How 7×19 delivered this Zip Wire Construction, Activity Tower and Drop
Concept Design
This project first started several years ago as the team at St Andrews Lakes were working out their vision for what has become an amazing adventure and well-being venue in Kent. The 7×19 team collaborated with the client to find the best location for the activities and produce designs ready for planning.
During the process we took into consideration
- Target audience.
- Practicality of location for the zip wire, to ensure it worked without the need for complex braking systems.
- Zip throughput.
- Identity additional activity to increase revenue potential.
Technical Design
7×19 collaborates with a trusted set of partners and suppliers to work on the structural and zip engineering to ensure the concept can be brought to reality safely.
Once this is done, we have a final set of technical drawings, a confirmed cost and a project plan.
Manufacturing and Construction
The key to a smooth project is to be super detailed in the drawing, planning and preparation for the project. This project was no different, from making sure the foundations are installed precisely, the steel fabricators working to the detailed drawings, all meant a smooth zip line construction.
This Zip line required a starting tower, so we designed a flexible activity tower with the additional activity of a Drop installed to enhance the visitor experience as well as creating additional revenue for the client.
So often projects like this are completed in the winter, which adds a set of factors with cold or windy weather – on this project the team worked through some pretty cold and windy days to ensure completion on time and with the great by-product of getting some awesome images.
Project Completion
Another happy customer with an operational zip, built on schedule, to ensure the other training and operational testing can all be completed in time for the planned opening date.
