Our Story

The story starts back in the 1990s, Chris and Brie first met on the Isle of Wight, and Asa was also starting his journey in the outdoor sector leading activities for young people. Little did we know that soon our paths would cross, working at the same outdoor education centre in Dorset. A lifelong friendship was born from a shared passion in the outdoors and making a career in it. This coupled with a common set of values rooted in getting a job well done, valuing people and trust.

These formative years of our careers, working with young people in the outdoors, cultivated a passion for adventure and a commitment to helping people connect with varying environments through diverse activities. This commitment endures today as we build adventures that connect people to places, showing them different perspectives, the thrill, excitement and adventure indoors or out.

7x19: How it all started

In 2018, Chris decided it was time to take his adventure design and building expertise to the next level, 7×19 was born. At first, it was a consultancy, helping out designers, builders, and operators of adventure sites all over the world. But soon, it became clear that there was a real need for a new type of adventure construction company, one that really understood the ins and outs of operations, participant experience, and making things work commercially.

And so, 7×19 evolved into the business we have today, offering everything from concept development to design, construction, maintenance, and post build support. Now based from our dedicated  Project Hub in North Wales, the kit and the team steadily expanded.

As we grew, it was obvious we needed more hands on deck. In late 2019, Brie joined, bringing some additional skills in project management, finance, and marketing. Later, in 2023, Asa came on board to help us grow even more and fine-tune the back-office functionality that keeps our team running smoothly and providing Chris with the time to ensure we were delivering top-notch results on-site.

It’s not just Chris, Brie, and Asa though. 7×19 is what it is thanks to a fantastic team of passionate individuals. We have a dedicated project team based in North Wales and a stellar crew of suppliers and structural engineers who specialise in high ropes, zip wire, bridge construction and more.

Our Experience

We’ve had the chance to work in, and with all sorts of organisations over the years. From big commercial operations, in outdoor education and leisure to charities and small businesses, we’ve got our hands dirty in all kinds of ways – sometimes literally.

Our team has taken on many roles: instructors, managers, product developers, marketers, project managers, builders, trainers, and consultants. In short, there’s a good chance at least one of us has been in your shoes, which makes us well-appointed to help you develop your next learning, adventure or commercial concept.

We’ve felt the positive impact on our industry and give back in return. We’ve been part of the Adventurous Activities Industry Advisory Committee, co-authored the Ropes Course guidance, led the Brilliant Residential’s campaign championing the value of residential experiences for young people, and served as trustees for the Institute for Outdoor Learning.

We’re also passionate about giving back in our spare time. By volunteering with local PTAs and youth groups, staying connected with young people and families. This involvement helps us understand their needs and wants for leisure and learning experiences too.

We pride ourselves on delivering experiences that our friends and family would love. We constantly think about the result: would we enjoy this? If the answer is no, we’ll go back to the drawing board!

We are a pragmatic bunch. We love challenges, problem solving, but most of all, getting a job done and done well. Your project is our project, we are a team, meaning we always ensure we will do the right thing.

We want your adventure with us to be the very best it can and will work tirelessly to make sure it is.
