When severe storms caused extensive damage to the woodland surrounding Bluestone Resort’s existing zip wire attraction, it left more than fallen trees in its wake.
A much-loved guest experience had been lost, and with significant areas of woodland requiring clearance, the landscape around the attraction was changed forever.
Faced with the challenge of restoring one of its popular adventure experiences, Bluestone turned to 7×19 to design and deliver a new zip wire experience that would once again allow guests to soar across the resort’s spectacular ravine.
The result is a family-friendly aerial adventure that celebrates the natural landscape, reconnects guests with the outdoors, and restores a key part of Bluestone’s adventure offering.
The Challenge
Bluestone is all about creating memorable experiences for families.
Unlike many adventure destinations, the audience here isn’t just thrill-seekers. It’s families travelling together, often with children experiencing aerial adventure for the very first time.
Following extensive storm damage and woodland clearance, the resort faced the challenge of reimagining a much-loved attraction within a significantly altered environment.
The objective wasn’t simply to replace what had been there before.
The new experience needed to take advantage of the dramatic ravine setting, appeal to a broad range of ages and abilities, and deliver an exciting yet accessible introduction to adventure for younger guests and families.
Adding to the challenge was a demanding programme. The attraction needed to be designed, built and ready to welcome guests in time for the critical May half-term period.
With bookings in place and a fixed opening deadline, there was little room for delay.

Working closely with the Bluestone team, 7×19 designed and delivered a new family-focused zip wire experience that reintroduces adventure to the heart of the resort.

Having worked with Bluestone previously, 7×19 already had a strong understanding of the resort, its guests and its operational requirements.
Construction required close coordination with the Bluestone team to ensure the project could progress efficiently while minimising disruption to the guest experience.
As with many outdoor projects, flexibility proved essential. The pace of the programme, changing site conditions and the realities of working within a live resort environment meant the project team needed to remain agile and solution-focused throughout delivery.
Through strong collaboration between Bluestone, suppliers and the wider project team, the attraction was successfully completed and opened in time for one of the resort’s busiest holiday periods.
Looking to the Future
While the immediate focus was restoring a popular attraction following storm damage, the project also creates exciting opportunities for the future.
The dramatic ravine setting offers significant potential for further aerial adventure experiences, and the new installation has been delivered with future development opportunities in mind.
As Bluestone continues to evolve its activity offering, there is potential for additional zip wire experiences that could allow guests to journey through the landscape in new and immersive ways.
For now, though, the priority was simple.
Getting guests back in the air.
