How 7×19 delivered this Development Linear High Ropes Course
Concept Design
Not all Developmental Linear Courses are built equal! 7×19 worked with the team at Mill on the Brue to establish what worked well for them on the Ropes Course we were replacing to make sure we didn’t lose any of what was tried and tested for the centre already.
Our core team have all worked in the Outdoor Learning sector, however we are careful not to assume anything, so took the time to listen to the needs of Mill on the Brue’s staff and clients before producing the final design – the perfect combination of all our lived experiences and knowledge to deliver a educational experience for the visitors to Mill on the Brue.
In designing the course, we took into account.
- Ensuring as much of the course can be used simultaneously as possible.
- Target audience.
- Delivering educational outcomes for participants, e.g. communication, resilience/grit, team work.
- Available space and access.
Once we’ve got a concept we are all happy with, we can move onto the technical bit.
Technical Design
7×19 collaborates with a trusted set of partners to work on the structural and course engineering to ensure the concept can be brought to reality safely.
Once this is done, we have a final set of technical drawings, a confirmed cost and project plan.

Manufacturing and Construction
7×19 aims to pre-fabricate as much as we can in our project hub here in North Wales and this project was no different. Experience tells us the more we can do in the controlled environment of the workshop, the better the result for the client in terms of both quality and cost.
Everything is double checked and loaded to make its way to the site.
On site, the team arrives to unload the materials, get set up and start the work of bringing the project to life.
This was a reasonably straightforward build as we were working at the edge of the centre and in the winter months. Once the team braved the cold and completed the main construction 7×19 set about final testing, creating the manual and obtaining an inaugural inspection from an independent inspection company to check everything is safe and ready.

Project Completion
A happy customer ready to start a new season with an amazing new Developmental Linear High Ropes Course.
