High Ropes Courses
High ropes courses
Developmental High Ropes Courses or Challenge Courses are an extremely powerful educational tool. We call them ‘The Swiss Army Knife’ of adventure activities because they help us champion social adventure over social media. From taking participants out of their comfort zones to building trust and improving communication skills, there are multiple benefits to these courses including:
- Self esteem & confidence building
- Identify leadership or management potential
- Create trust & mutual support
- Heighten spirit & motivation within a group
- Improve problem solving & decision making
- Learn new skills whilst understanding risk
- Develop agility and physical coordination
- Courses can provide different difficulty levels in order to provide achievement equity
Historically Ropes Courses have been built in trees, and whilst we do occasionally build courses in suitable trees, over the last 20 years it has been a more common place for these activities to be built using wooden utility poles. We now recommend the main structure to be made from steel due to the major issues with timber treatment and of course life expectancy. Please note there are methods which can be used to mitigate the risk of timber rot, should timber poles still be preferred.
Our High Ropes Courses are all bespoke and can be designed to meet your specific requirements. They always consist of a number of team and individual elements. These elements can be tailored further to ensure they are suitable for a specific age range or ability.
Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
